We begin with the periodontal diagnosis, in which we measure the periodontal pockets and assess the bone level radiologically. Then comes the initial therapy, scaling and root planing under local anaesthesia, followed at six to eight weeks by a reassessment in which we measure the same points again. Depending on the response, we decide whether further steps are needed, including surgical ones; the number of sessions therefore depends on the stage of the disease.

Every three to six months, with an interval chosen according to your risk, not a standard one. Maintenance continues long term, because periodontitis is controlled, not cured, and it can return without symptoms; at the check-ups we catch it early.
