Cookie Policy

What a cookie is and why we need your consent

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which types of cookies and similar technologies we use on the website of the DentaField Clinic dental practice, for what purpose and for how long, as well as how you can express, change or withdraw your choices. This Policy applies together with the Privacy Policy, of which it forms an integral part.

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves in your browser or on your device (computer, phone, tablet) when you visit it. On subsequent visits, the cookie can be read by the site, which makes it possible, for example, to remember preferences, to ensure the proper functioning of the pages or, with your consent, to measure how the site is used.

In addition to cookies, we also use similar technologies that store or access information on your terminal equipment, such as the browser's storage space (localStorage and sessionStorage). In this Policy, for the sake of simplicity, the term “cookies” covers all these similar technologies.

Cookies may be “session” cookies (automatically deleted when the browser is closed) or “persistent” cookies (which remain stored for a set period or until you delete them manually). They may also be “first-party” cookies (set by the DentaField Clinic dental practice) or “third-party” cookies (set by other providers whose services are integrated into the site, such as Google).

The installation of cookies and similar technologies that are not strictly necessary takes place only with your prior consent, on the basis of Article 4(5) of Law no. 506/2004 (Legea nr. 506/2004), read in conjunction with Article 6(1)(a) and Article 7 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). Strictly necessary cookies are exempt from the consent requirement, in accordance with Article 4(6) of Law no. 506/2004 (Legea nr. 506/2004).

Which cookies we use

The table below sets out the cookies and similar technologies used on the site, grouped by category. The durations and names set by Google are determined by Google and may change.

The cookie categories have the following meaning:

Strictly necessary: they enable the basic functioning and security of the site (navigation, retaining cookie choices, securing forms, the technical session). Without them, the site cannot function properly. They are exempt from the consent requirement and cannot be disabled from the consent banner.

Analytics: they help us understand, on a statistical and aggregated basis, how the site is used, in order to improve it. They are provided through Google Analytics 4 and are activated only with your consent.

Marketing: they enable measuring the effectiveness of advertising campaigns, attributing conversions and remarketing, through Google Ads/DoubleClick. They are activated only with your consent.

Functional: they enable additional features and an enhanced experience (for example, displaying certain embedded elements from third parties). Where they involve non-essential third parties, they are activated only with your consent.

Marketing cookies (Google Ads) apply only when campaigns are active. If we integrate additional providers or Google changes the names or durations, we will update this table. The exact list of cookies active in your browser can be consulted at any time from your browser settings.

Third-party cookies and prior consent

Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads (including conversions and remarketing) are services provided by a third party (Google) and are not strictly necessary for the functioning of the site. Therefore, they are loaded only on the basis of your prior consent.

Before consent is given, Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads do not write cookies and do not place identifiers on your terminal equipment. We use the Google Consent Mode v2 mechanism, configured by default to “denied” for all storage categories (analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization). Thus, until you grant consent, analytics and marketing cookies are not set. The moment you accept a category, the corresponding signals are updated to “granted”, and the services begin to operate in accordance with your choice; if you refuse, the services remain disabled.

The Google Maps map is also a service provided by Google and may set cookies (for example NID and CONSENT). In order to permanently display the address and location of the dental practice, the Google Maps map loads for all visitors, regardless of the cookie choices expressed. This is a decision of the clinic, which we bring to your attention transparently; unlike analytics and marketing cookies, the map is not conditional on prior consent.

The use of Google services may involve transfers of data outside the European Economic Area; these transfers are governed by Google's policies and safeguards (for example, standard contractual clauses). Further details can be found in the Privacy Policy and in Google's privacy policy.

The consent banner and managing your choices

On your first visit (and whenever the policy changes materially), we show you a consent banner through which you can choose which categories of cookies you accept. The banner complies with the following principles:

• The “Reject all” option is just as visible and accessible as “Accept all”, being available from the first level of the banner.

• We do not use pre-ticked boxes: non-essential categories (analytics, marketing) are disabled by default, and consent requires a clear and affirmative action on your part.

• We do not condition access to the site on accepting cookies (no “cookie wall”) and we do not use “dark patterns”.

• You can grant consent in a granular manner, by category, through the “Customize” section.

• Consent can be withdrawn or changed at any time, as easily as it was given: there is a permanent “Cookie settings” link in the site footer, which reopens the banner (Article 7(3) GDPR).

Refusing or withdrawing consent for non-essential categories does not affect the basic functioning of the site.

Managing cookies from the browser

Independently of our banner, you can control and delete cookies directly from your browser settings. Most browsers allow blocking or deleting cookies, as well as setting warnings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect the proper functioning of the site.

Official instructions for the common browsers:

Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data (support.google.com/chrome).

Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data (support.mozilla.org).

Safari (macOS/iOS): Preferences/Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data (support.apple.com).

Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies (support.microsoft.com).

For behavioural advertising cookies you can also use the dedicated European tool: www.youronlinechoices.com/ro. You can also express your choices directly in your Google account settings.

Cookie storage duration

Session cookies are automatically deleted when the browser is closed. Persistent cookies remain stored for the period indicated in the table above (for example, up to 2 years for certain Google Analytics cookies and up to 90 days for certain Google Ads cookies), or until you delete them manually or withdraw your consent.

Your cookie choices (stored in the browser's local storage) are retained so that we do not ask for your consent again on every visit; you can change them at any time from “Cookie settings” or by deleting the site data from your browser.

The controller, your rights and proof of consent

The controller of the site and of the processing operations described in this Policy is the dental practice carrying out its activity under the trade name “DentaField Clinic”, with its registered office at Bulevardul Constantin Brâncoveanu nr. 18, Sector 4, 041451 București. Contact details: dentafield@gmail.com, telephone +40 744 841 966. Additional identification details of the controller can be provided, upon request, to the competent authorities.

Insofar as cookies process personal data, you have the rights provided for by the GDPR: the right of access, to rectification, to erasure, to restriction, to object, to data portability, as well as the right to withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of the processing carried out before the withdrawal. Full details about these rights and about how you can contact the supervisory authority (Autoritatea Națională de Supraveghere a Prelucrării Datelor cu Caracter Personal – ANSPDCP, the Romanian National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing) can be found in the Privacy Policy, an integral part of this Policy.

For data protection, no DPO has been appointed; the contact point for data protection is the e-mail address above (dentafield@gmail.com).

In order to comply with the obligation to be able to demonstrate consent (Article 7(1) GDPR), our consent management platform records and retains proof of your cookie choices: the moment they were expressed, the information displayed at that moment, and the categories accepted or refused. These records are processed solely as evidence of consent and for the establishment or defence of a legal right, being kept for a reasonable period for this purpose.
