Frequently asked
What patients ask us
Bone augmentation is performed under local anaesthesia, so the procedure itself is painless. Afterwards you may experience mild discomfort and local swelling, which can be managed with the medication your dentist recommends. At DentaField Clinic Bucharest we follow a careful protocol with clear postoperative instructions, so that your recovery is as comfortable and predictable as possible.
It depends on each case. After bone augmentation, the graft needs a period of healing and integration into your own bone before the implant can be placed safely. This interval generally spans several months, and the right moment is determined by the dentist based on check-ups and imaging assessment, rather than a fixed rule.
The price of bone augmentation is between 2500 and 3500 RON and varies depending on the volume of the treated area and the augmentation material used. The exact cost is established after the clinical and imaging assessment. You can consult the full price list on the /tarife page, and the DentaField Clinic Bucharest team will give you a clear treatment plan before starting.
When a tooth has been missing for a longer period, the bone in that area gradually resorbs and loses volume. If the remaining bone is not sufficient to support an implant, bone augmentation rebuilds this structure. In effect, it creates the stable foundation the implant needs for safe integration and a durable, long-lasting result.
Swelling in the first few days is to be expected, as is mild discomfort, manageable with the recommended medication. We follow the healing at regular check-ups and remove the sutures at the right time. We tell you from the outset what is normal during this period and what is not, so that you know when to call us instead of waiting at home with a worry.
Yes. Smoking and uncontrolled diabetes raise the risk that the graft will not integrate properly, which is why we discuss them before the procedure. The new bone needs four to nine months to mature, and at the end we check the volume gained on a new scan, compared with the first one; if it is not sufficient, we say so.
