Sinus lift (sinus augmentation)

   CBCT assessment

   On the CBCT we measure the height of the bone remaining beneath the sinus, check the condition of the sinus, the thickness of the membrane and any bony septa that complicate the lift, then decide on the appropriate approach, crestal or lateral.

   Elevating the sinus membrane

   Under local anaesthesia the sinus membrane is carefully lifted, with blunt instruments that release it without cutting it, creating the space into which the material will be introduced.

   Augmentation with bone material

   The biocompatible material that will serve as a scaffold for the new bone support is introduced and positioned without forcing the membrane, and the area is closed with sutures.

   Healing and implant placement

   Once the graft has matured, confirmed on imaging, the area can receive the implant. Where the remaining bone provides implant stability from the outset, the implant can be placed during the augmentation itself, which shortens the treatment; the decision, however, is taken on the millimetres measured, not on the wish to finish sooner.

   3D intraoral scan

   We take a digital impression in a few minutes, without conventional impression materials, which as a rule means more comfort during the procedure. The image of your arches appears on screen in real time and can be used for planning straight away, and if an area comes out unclear we rescan it on the spot.

   Step 2

   Digital treatment planning

   Through CAD/CAM planning, we design the proposed restoration in detail before any work begins: the shape, the length, the way the tooth will sit next to its neighbours and how the bite will close. We look at the plan together on screen, adjust it until it reflects as closely as possible what you want, within the limits of what is clinically possible, and only then move on.

   Step 3

   Execution & cementation

   The restoration is milled or pressed in the laboratory, tried in and adjusted for a precise fit, then permanently cemented. The try-in before cementation is the moment when you can say what you like and what you do not, while something can still be changed. At the follow-up visits we check together that everything feels comfortable.
